Hope you all had a fantastic party on the New Year’s Eve and would have welcomed 2011 in a grand way or at least in the way you would love to, Here I go wishing you all a prosperous new year.
I thought of starting this year’s post on the lines of hopes, dreams and ambition as many of us would have got all new dreams, hopes and ambition for this year. I wish lots of luck to you all for achieving them. And now I will continue with my first post for this year.
One incident which I am reminded of now is that which happened few years back.
I regularly visited an orphanage which has kids of age 4-13 and I tried to spend sometime there. One such initial visit I was just getting acquainted with the kids there, so I had to come up with something to talk to the kids and get to know them well. One such day I decided to ask them what would each one of them want to be when they grow up.
Everyone was very excited to tell what they want to become. First one who sat in torn and untidy cloths stood up folding her hands and told she wants to be a doctor, the dream she had in her eyes was worth million dollars, Next similar one told that he wanted to be a Police and trust me he had started mocking police in his style, he saluted me and by then next one for my surprise stood up in some different action and told he wants to be Spiderman!!! Now what would we say How unrealistic isn’t it? But the same is not the case with that little one. He had all his dream built imagining swinging across buildings and rescuing people. Trust me, it took almost 2 weeks to explain the kid who Spiderman was and what actually his dream should be. Initial tries ended up with that kid crying when I told that Spiderman was just a cartoon character.
Slowly I was able to convince and in my next consecutive visit the same kid came running to me, hugged me and told “I don’t want to be a Spiderman, I want to be something different” I was all excited to know that, then he slowly took some chit from his pocket and showing the picture he told “I want to be him people say he is a real life hero” and the picture was of Solider who died in the Warfield. And I only then realized that this kid wanted to be Hero in one way or the other. I wished him whole heartedly and continued with the day. It’s been days I haven’t met them but I still remember the warmth of his hug, hope and ambition.
Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass ...
Its about learning to dance in the rain!!!
There are many things in life that will catch your eye
but only a few will catch your heart... Pursue those
This is my small effort to make you smile for a while...

Dreams are those which keep our lives ticking, somehow. Am glad the little kids have big dreams. We should help them in all possible ways to make their dreams come true.
Nice one Ramya, thanks for sharing :o)
